It is a fact that a trip to Asia seems quite far to Europeans, but who hasn’t thought that they would like to visit China or Japan to get to know a completely different culture?

Today, we will focus on the country of Japan and more specifically on a unique and beautiful accommodation that is actually a means of transportation. The Shiki-Shima train was created in 2017 by Kawasaki Heavy Industries & J-TREC using aluminum and stainless steel respectively. The train consists of ten large carriages of which six are suites. The most comfortable suite on the train is two-legged and in tune with Japanese culture. On the first level, you will admire the modern style with minimal colors, geometric designs, and low lighting, while on the second level you will feel like a native Japanese with Tatami carpets, Kotatsu table (a table with heating that you feel on your lower extremities while you eat) and the traditional cypress-bath with rich aromas and oils. It should be mentioned that there are windows throughout the suite so you can admire the outside throughout your trip.

The train runs two- or four-day tours from spring to fall, or three-day tours during the winter season. The tours have been created based on the season so that guests can enjoy the outdoor view at its best.

The train stops are at very central points so that guests can walk and explore several areas. These stops include museums, wineries, and hotels. Of course, the cost of accommodation includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner from renowned Japanese chefs in Asian and French cuisine, in fact at each station a chef comes on the train and creates his own menu.

The cost for a trip (accommodation and meal) to Train Suite Shiki-Shima starts from $2,500 to $10,000. Applications for a trip inside Train Suite Shiki-Shima are now open and the first trip is scheduled for April 2023.
